Founder and President, Attorney Kathleen Ann Phillips Aguon, was born and raised on Guam. At the age of 14, she lost her mom, Norma Ann Bordallo Phillips,  to ovarian cancer and at the age of 25, found herself single and pregnant.  On December 5, 1999, Kathleen gave birth to a baby girl and named her Erensia Ann Phillips. Erensia is a CHamoru word, which means heritage and/or inheritance. Her name was chosen because Kathleen wanted to honor her heritage and since her dad, John Martin Phillips, was Irish, calling her Eren for short brought pride to him as Erin is derived from the Irish word Éirinn, which means "Ireland".

During this time, Kathleen earned her college degree in Sociology from Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles, California and obtained her teaching certification. Her mom had also graduated from MSMC and was an elementary teacher on Guam and Kathleen continued this legacy as well.

However, on December 7, 2001, Erensia unexpectedly and suddenly passed away while Kathleen was away from her that evening. Believing that nothing could have ever been more painful than the pain she already carried since losing her mother, Kathleen sought refuge in her faith and enrolled at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. She graduated in 2006 and returned back to Guam.

Upon her return, Kathleen settled into a fulfilling teaching career at Tamuning Elementary for 10 years from 2006-2016, while being married to Prudencio Aguon and mom to Celestina Irene and Prudencio Rome.

It was really when things started to connect in Kathleen's present career as an assistant public defender that the idea of establishing Erensiå-ta came to life.  Kathleen's been fortunate and blessed throughout her life, and being of service to our island has been a part of her family's legacy for generations.

It is with the prayers, love, and support of her family and friends that continue to inspire Kathleen to live her legacy, work hard, and to remind us all that:

Our Children are Our Greatest Inheritance.
